that's true, kinda... i classify eurodance as the male rap + females singing in the chorus and/or background:
and classify eurobeat as faster eurodance with that typical screeching saw lead:
many times i refer to j-dance/j-hhc as eurobeat too, those crazy j-teenagers are the masters of that sub-genre (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

What I look for in my portable players is the ability to play/pause, skip tracks forward/backwards as well as seeking within a track forward/backwards, without looking and without turning the screen on. most of the time my player is in my pocket and I don't want to take it out every time I want to do the above, and turning on the screen eats the battery too much.
iPod Classic and my old phone HTC Touch Pro were the only devices that could hold all my favs AND do all the above. I simply can't stand the touchscreen-only mp3 players.

they got the degrees, you'd think otherwise but this guy is in fact driving to the RIGHT, backwards! (IMG:http://imgur.com/LmapU.jpg)
and this year we've started seeing those 4-wheels off the groud drifting, its like they've ran out of things to do with their cars! (IMG:http://imgur.com/5xtCR.jpg) * @2:50 they show the best run + a slow-mo replay, imho the best part of the vid

Pop -> Happy Hardcore -> Pop Trance -> Uplifting Vocal Trance -> Uplifting Trance -> Progressive Trance -> Progressive House -> Deep House -> Techno -> Ambient
I'm assuming you're simply telling us your personal evolution tho I gotta agree with everything you said untill progressive trance. that's the exact same path I've gone through and currently am at the proggy stage, but by no means does that says that I hate what I don't listen to anymore. I still enjoy hhc =}
heck, I'm finding myself listening more and more to tracks like "Lia - Fairy Land / Lia - My Soul, Your Beats" when working just cuz they still have that edm'ish beat and still satisfy my music needs. They even sound decent on my external speakers at low volumes, cuz otherwise the typical uplifting trance at low volumes sounds like some mad noise with the typical off beat cymbal sound - not enjoyable at all.

yep, that's my music roots... as i've been saying before, a lot of russian christian music (especially older ones) which i grew up with have the same level of melody-ness, but too bad they're just that - melodiness but no beats. tho no worries, trance was the answer - we get all the mad beatz we want AND the beautiful melodies. the track in OP is just that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

there is no freedom in trance... 135-140 BPM, 4/4th beat, no complex chords. psy-trance is even more limited, but not too much more than trance - the kick HAS to have that acid/metallic feel to it, and your basslines are generally limited to 0011, 0111, or 1111 sequencing. the point here being, there is no freedom at all when it comes down to trance, especially psy. but it's not the only genre with such problems - don't even get me started how limited country and rock music is, it'll be a mess, lol.
now, harsh psy criticism aside - i LOVE psy-trance as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) it got the same feel and GOAL as trance - hypnotize your imagination with whatever captivating sounds and chords the artist can come up with, but has a very different feel than your typical trance music and, the best part, it actually sounds pretty good on sound systems that can't handle much bass. psy-trance relies more on the upper spectrum than lower to paint the picture, and (usually) more on the sounds and not the melodies. and, that's where the beauty is displayed - it's amazing how some artist can push out such amazing tracks under so many restrictions applied.
that being said, imho PSY > GOA since i'm actually having hard time finding goa tracks that i like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
to finish off, here's one of my fav psy-trance tracks:
